I just recently bought this with the purpose of having a power failure light, and it works fantastic at that function. The thing that makes this product stand out from others, is the ability to shut off the night light function, an ability than many other dual purpose lights lack. For the money, product is a fantastic deal.

I bought this device in view of the fact that I liked the thought of it life a combination device, of a flashlight and night light. In that normally it will be a nightlight, and I could grab it at anytime to be a flashlight. When the power goes out, the battery operated flashlight kicks in and it will act as an emergency light. That is all the fantastic points. I was less satisfied with the fact that it took covered up both outlets and the dimming function is not sensitive enough, importance when i place it in my upstairs hallway (a reasonable place to act as a nightlight and emergency light), it pretty much stays on all day, thinking here is not enough light. Other than those two things, i do like this thought and this product. Just be aware of those limitations and plot ahead where you will use it.

This Light is fantastic!! We placed several around our house and they provide nice light output for a basic Night Light. Whats ever cooler is you can pull these out of the outlet and use them as flashlights with the internal rechargeable battery. They obviously dont produce a high amount of brightness in flashlight mode (youll need one of Maxximas dedicated flashlights for that) but they are perfect for seeing around the room, and in emergency situations. If the power goes down these lights automatically go into emergency mode, lighting the lower light (this is the flashlight) on the unit allowing you to see where your going, or pull out of the wall and use as a flashlight. I would reccomend that all have at least 3 or 4 of these in their home.

We ordered 5 of these to be placed throughout our house. Hubby opened the first package and plugged it in – perfect, no tribulations. He plugged in the second – a dud. OK, next package – another dud! Fortunately the last 2 do work, but now we have to ship the 2 defective ones back before getting a refund. Will be looking for another more reliable option.
